Established in 2004, MCL News & Media is a leading media platform for the global textile and apparel industries.
We are the publisher of Textile Standards & Legislation, which was formerly known as the Eco-Textile Labelling Guide and was first produced back in 2008 with the help of Messe Frankfurt, which continues to be one of our valued partner organisations.
More recently, we have also partnered with the highly respected European Outdoor Group and Cascale to bring you this new, unique, on-line searchable tool that is also printed on an 18-month cycle.
MCL News & Media has a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years in B2B magazine and on-line publishing, which brings together expert analysis, in-depth comment and the latest news to a range of different industry textile and apparel professionals across the globe.
Our products include the market leading print and on-line magazines: Ecotextile News, Knitting Trade Journal, Sustainable Nonwovens, our publication for technical textiles: T.EVO, and The Green Guide to ITMA.
Our expertise in cotton and sustainability is second to none, and we have published two major reports on this subject: The Inside Guide to Cotton & Sustainability and most recently, the ground-breaking Cotton Horizons study.
Along with Marks & Spencer and The University of Leeds, MCL was a co-founder of the RITE Group – a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Reducing the Impact of Textiles on the Environment.
Our UK-based company is innovative vibrant and growing – and we are alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business programme and recently re-located to the historic City of York which has two vibrant universities and is a nominated UK creativity hub.
We are also the brand owner and of the Planet Textiles event on sustainability, which successfully launched in Hong Kong in March 2010 and last took place in 2023 in Milan at the ITMA textile machinery exhibition.
MCL News & Media is proud to be a member of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), and MCL Director John Mowbray is a former Board member of this not-for-profit organisation, which is funded by a group of brands and businesses involved in the European outdoor industry that raise funds to put directly into grassroots conservation projects worldwide.
